Facial aesthetics procedures are performed by Dr Shareen Patel who has undergone further postgraduate training and is fully qualified to offer facial aesthetics procedures. She will first carry out a detailed consultation to address your aspirations, a thorough examination and assess your suitability for treatment.
Treatments we offer include anti-wrinkle botulinum treatments and dermal fillers.
Anti-wrinkle injections
Anti-wrinkle (Botulinum Toxin type A/ Botox) injections relax the muscles in the face to smooth out lines and wrinkles such as crow’s feet and frown lines. They can also be used to treat a ‘gummy’ smile by relaxing the muscle that lifts the upper lip.
Effects usually take 7 to 10 days to appear, and typically last 3 to 4 months.
Another popular and effective use of this treatment is for excessive underarm sweating, Botulinum Toxin works by blocking the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal/ facial fillers are a non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment that can be used along with botulinum toxin treatment, or alone. They work by restoring volume underneath the skin and can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, creases, frown lines and hollowness below the eyes. Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that keeps the skin hydrated and looking healthy, but one whose levels diminish with age. Dermal fillers work by replenishing hyaluronic acid in selected areas. Dermal fillers can also be used to accentuate features such as lips and cheekbones.
Effects of dermal fillers can be noticed straight away, and these typically last between 6 to 12 months depending on the type of facial filler used.
